Biography

I studied music at the University of Wisconsin Madison from 1999-2005, concentrating my studies on trombone performance, graduating the trombone studio under the direction of Professor Bill Richardson in 2003. However, Music Education, History and Theory were also focuses of my studies.

My time at the UW was accompanied with participation in the Wisconsin Singers where I played trombone for six years. During this time I also took on staff positions such as Assistant Music Director, Instrumental Director, Chief Orchestrator and Co-Arranger. Working as a staff member has given me a wide variety of experiences including running band rehearsals, critiquing, arranging, clinician work, and directing. The Wisconsin Singers has also provided me with the opportunity to work closely with professional arrangers, choreographers and directors to develop show concepts, make edits and revisions, and arrange unique and artistic music.

After graduation, I started Triple Forte Arrangements and since then have been arranging for numerous show choirs across the nation, including arranging the entire ninety minute Wisconsin Singers show. The past five years I have been Director of the Madison East Show band where I arrange, run rehearsals, and choreograph dance moves to the band features and have lead them to achive the "Best Band" Award. I also spend much of my time doing clinics for bands and show choirs, and also judging show choir competitions.

In order to aid my instrumental arranging I have spent many years taking classes and studying privately in order to learn the fundamentals of all the instruments, including 18 years of piano.

I have, in addition, studied music technology and have some recording and sound editing experience which I use to record accompaniment CD’s and back up music for choirs that are sans band.
